Week 9

We have had a busy week last week. Swimming sports on Monday- which was a bit of a disaster weather wise, and our trip to the RSA on Tuesday. I will put up photos of this soon, I just need to find the right IPad that they are on. We also had Mary's Annunciation Liturgy on Wednesday - which our students read beautifully in church, the Palm Sunday Liturgy and Parade, and Rice Lunch on Friday.

Thanks to the parents who helped out with Rice Cookers and cooking and helping with serving the Rice lunch.

Thank you also to the parents and grandparents who helped us with transport and with supervision to the RSA. Unfortunately we did not do the Sculpture Trail because of the weather- hopefully we will be able to do that early next term.

Here is what we have been learning in Mandarin this week. We did really well with our counting, we had to read the numbers in Mandarin to join the dots to create the Dragon. I am really impressed with how well the students are doing in Mandarin.

The students have started to use their own blog. It is a bit of a process getting everyone logged in and teaching them how to put up their work, so not every student has their blog sorted yet . Each student is going to use their own blog to showcase their learning. There will be some things that are expected across the Middle Team to be on the blogs, but students will also be able to add their own things as well- as long as they are incorporated into their learning.  I will add a page of blog addresses to our Middle School Site later this week, all the addresses follow the same format apart from 1 or 2 students. They start with stm then the students first name, first letter of their sir name followed by .blogspot.co.nz  For example= stmlynleys.blogspot.co.nz

On Friday some of our students were very fortunate to visit the Noel Leeming Technology van. I will add some photos soon.

We are going into Holy Week. During Holy Week we go through Jesus' journey from when he was welcomed into Jerusalem with palms right up to his death and then His resurrection. There are a few liturgies taking place this week to remind us what we are preparing for.
