The Lighthouse Keeper's Bird, by Lily Kautz

We have been learning about Native Birds and why we need to look after them as part of our learning about Sustainability. This week we investigated the Stephens Island Wren. We learnt some very interesting things about the bird.
The Stephens Island Wren became extinct after Tibbles the cat killed off all of the unique, flightless, nocturnal birds on Stephens Island.

 Lily Kautz wrote and illustrated this picture book about the extinction of the Stephens Island Wren.
